NEW IMPROVEMENTS BEING INTRODUCED
DURING 2008
There is always room for improvement and although Brackenwood
had been a 5 star self catering holiday let property with Visit Britain for some years, standards had appeared to slip considerably.
Forest Charm have already raised the standards to 4 star awaiting re-assessment when all standards have been raised even further
during 2008.
MOST FACILITIES HAVE NOW BEEN TOTALLY UPDATED -
NEW SERVICES HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED BETWEEN LETS TO CAUSE THE LEAST AMOUNT OF INCONVENIENCE TO OUR VISITORS.
IMPROVEMENTS ALREADY MADE
On taking over the property we immediately got our plans under way and a
lot of cleaning and maintenance happened as a first priority! Then staright away came updating, replacement
of existing equipment, the introduction of many new items, services and facilities. Significant improvement has already
been accomplished by our hard working and greatly valued team and we are delighted with the response and feedback information
from our Visitors so far this year, particularly those who had been before so could really appreciate the changes made.

IN THE KITCHEN

New & improved selection of quality pans, utensils & cookware

Introduction of a starter pack of essential household basics so you don't
need to bring everything with you!

The introduction of a selection of Cookery books & lots of hints and
tips for the Aga (just in case you haven't met one before!)
IN THE LOUNGE

New improved selection of games and books for your added enjoyment
during your stay - many of which have local interest
-
New Television with Freeview & DVD - plus local interest DVD's
-
New CD player / Radio - with a selection of CD's
IN THE DINING AREA
- Replacement and good selection of quality China, cutlery and glassware

OUTSIDE
The garden was quite a large project! Much of it was rather overgrown
and unfortunately far too overgrown to be able to cut back successfully. On getting it back under control we also
discovered a few more maintenance issues that needed immediate addressing.
We therefore 'got on with it' and made this a much bigger project than expected
but we are pleased to announce that this work has now been completed for now - and what a difference it has made!

The rear courtyard area is now much larger, the garden part of it is planted
and we have even been able to introduce a 'quiet corner' - ideal for reading your holiday book or even just listening
to the birds.

All exterior lighting has been improved or replaced and we have also
installed some additional lighting too - in fact ALL the electrics within the entire property have been totally updated!

A new Barbecue has been provided with the introduction of some complimentary
charcoal to get you started.

A new circular wooden table and seating for up to 8 people with
or without parasol now replaces the previously 'quaint' but rather inadequate provision.
GENERALLY

Provision of a comprehensive household
manual set out for easy guidance to all aspects of the household and it's appliances

Provision
of a comprehensive Welcome book providing all the information you could possibly want not only about the property but for
days out and about in the New Forest too.
New Housekeeping services.
New pictures and finishing accents around the house to reflect the surrounding
forest and providing the right feel and atmosphere for a New Forest holiday.
We have also introduced a newly installed Wi-Fi facility at Brackenwood
as an additional service and of benefit to those Vistors who need to travel with their lap top. This service does need
to be booked at the time of making your reservation and will include the facilities of incoming faxes and a photo copier.
IMPROVEMENTS STILL TO COME!
The team are currently having a break from all that hard work - but it won't
be long before we start again!
Plans still to be scheduled in are now the less vital items on the list.
The first plans being made will be to set time aside over the next year to:-

Re-decorate the hallway, stairs and landing.

Re-furnish the current breakfast area overlooking the rear courtyard.

Re-furbish the downstairs cloakroom.

Improve the house bathroom.
