Inside.....
Entrance Hall, Stairs
and Landing
New curtains and a delightful desk
and chair were added during 2009 after re-decorating these areas, whilst upstairs a new white wooden blind and window drape
have given the spacious landing an additional lift. During the next phase there are plans to lay
new flooring.
Cloakroom
Completely re-furbished this room is now fresh and up to date with a new
modern suite, pleasing tiles, white wooden blinds and a new stone tiled floor.
Kitchen
The kitchen was re-decorated and the new wooden blinds completed the fresher look.
Lounge
/ Diner
These areas were re-equipped and now have
Wi-Fi available for Visitor's use.
Bedrooms
Colour schemes and designs are already being looked at for the next stage of our re-decorating programme
and it is hoped that these rooms will get on the schedule during 2010.
Further Improvements...
For 2009 many of the rooms were re-decorated
with pleasing results and lovely feedback from regular Visitors and during 2010 we shall continue with our improvements during
our maintenance weeks.
Outside.....
As
part of the general maintenance process it was decided that the ivy on the front of the house had to come down.
It had been badly maintained in the past and the brickwork behind needed attention.
Following the maintenance
on the brickwork during last year, it is now planned to train Virginia Creeper up the house which can be more easily
maintained and controlled and will allow the brickwork to breathe in Winter rather than just get wet! It won't take
long to establish and with the changing colours of the Seasons can only enhance what is already a great retreat.
The Garden areas
Following the complete re-planting of
the rear courtyard garden in Spring 2008 it all continued to take further shape during 2009 with many compliments received
on the added design features as well as the careful plant choice to be attractractive to the local wildlife as well as being
more sympathetic to its environment.
